Some of you readers had a chance to see my post this last week regarding a fake reflection filter used on a slot canyon photo. Although I’ve since deleted that post, one of my favorite shows brings this subject to light. I’m a huge fan of the PBS show, NOVA, and their sister program, NOVA Science Now. This week’s show features a profile of Hany Farid. Who, you ask? Hany is one of the original digital detectives, who has written various software recognition programs to detect faked and forged photography. Read a summary of the show here, and by all means, watch it when you get the chance. The Nova Science Now web site also has a section where you can see how good you are at recognizing fake photos. I scored 7 out of 9 correct.
