Sunset light on clouds above Yosemite Valley from Glacier Point, Yosemite National Park, California - ID# GPR-1069
This scenic view is from Glacier Point in Yosemite National Park, California. Sitting nearly 3,000 feet above Yosemite Valley, this famous scenic vista has drawn tourists from around the world. In the early 1900's John Muir and then president Teddy Roosevelt met in Yosemite, and from this very point formed an agreement to help protect and preserve Yosemite National Park for future generations.

A couple thing worth noting about this location: In the late 1800's and early 1900's this was a very popular place for people to go out on this rock and take photo. At one point, someone even drove an antique car out there. Glacier Point is also known as the place where the famous Yosemite FireFall was sent in a torrent of burning sparks and embers falling toward Yosemite Valley to the delight of visitors. Today, the National Park Service has made going out on this rock illegal, yet many tourists and photographers still take their chances and break the law to get a photo while out on this amazing precipice.
