One of the nicest types of light most photographers look forward to shooting are backlit subjects. Here along the edge of Vogelsang Lake, which is not far from Yosemite National Park's Vogelsang High Sierra Camp, I found this wonderful little collection of alpine trees growing not far from the tree line. As the sun rose over the nearby Vogelsang Pass, the backlit tree branches seemed to glow against the mountainside.
