Late one summer afternoon I arrived at Glacier Point in Yosemite National Park to watch the nearly full moon rise over the mountains of the high Sierra Nevada. Unfortunately there were some clouds that were hanging right on the shoulder of Mount Clark in exactly the spot the moon was due to come up along the horizon. Eventually the moon did appear in the deep blue sky rising just as sunset light was casting a golden red hue on the clouds and mountain. This become my favorite shot thanks to the thin wisp of cloud that seemed to reach out and touch the nearly full moon in the sky.
