Wild Iris bloom in meadow below Middle Cathedral Rock at sunset, Yosemite Valley, Yosemite National Park, California - ID# VLY2-2031
In springtime, the appearance of wildflowers blooming in Yosemite Valley is a clear sign that spring has arrived, and nature is celebrating the beauty of Yosemite National Park at her natural best. This image is taken in a meadow below Cathedral Rocks, where wild Iris blossoms appear in green grass while water from spring snow melt is still fresh on the ground. The fresh smell of a passing spring rainstorm can almost be perceived rising out of the nearby forest trees.
