Clouds and Lost Arrow Spire, Yosemite Valley

Lost Arrow Spire in Yosemite Valley is one of the small little geological rock features that most visitors to Yosemite National Park never see. Oh, they may see it, but they don't know they're seeing it. Lost Arrow Spire is an offset protruding rock pinnacle located just east along the Yosemite Valley rim buttress from Upper Yosemite Fall. In this photo, the top of Yosemite Fall is just behind the oak tree. Lost Arrow Spire is almost center-frame. It is a popular place where rock climbers string a rope between the main granite cliff wall and the the rock pinnacle, then perform a Tyrolean Traverse pulling themselves along the rope until they reach Lost Arrow Spire.
