Glacier Point is one of the most popular scenic vista views in all of Yosemite National Park, and is perched 3,000 feet above the floor of Yosemite Valley. This image looks up across the great granite apron that lies below Glacier Point, whose famous rock outcrop can be seen as a pointed rock sticking out from the cliffs near the top of the frame. It was from this rock that Theodore Roosevelt and John Muir met to discuss the future preservation of Yosemite Valley, and preserve Yosemite National Park as one of the premier examples of scenic mountain beauty in the National Park System.
