Fall colors at Siesta Lake, Yosemite

Siesta Lake in Yosemite National Park is a tiny little lake by most Sierra Nevada standards, tucked in a little forest clearing along Tioga Pass Road. In autumn, the fall colors on the foliage at the edge of the lake, and the grasses growing out of the shallow water provide a wonderful palette of fall colors amidst the greenery of the surrounding forest. Most visitors barely have a chance to cast a glance toward Siesta Lake while driving by, the cool mountain water hardly able to catch a moment of attention. Yet for those who do stop by this refreshing little lake, it offers a moment of cool respite among the trees.
