It is with the greatest delight and virtual fanfare that I proudly announce the official publication of my latest book, Photographing California; Vol. 1 – North. A guide to the natural landmarks of the Golden State. (Click the title or image to see the book’s special page on my web site, which includes a free downloadable pdf or Word doc. file list of “On-the-Go” Resources.)

Within the last few days, Amazon.com now lists the book as in-stock and available for purchase. Unfortunately, Barnes & Noble has yet to get the memo. (They show the official pub sate as 11/28/12 – tomorrow.)

At 432 pages, and 340+ photos, this project feels to have been the closest I’ll likely ever get to writing a doctoral thesis.

This book is dedicated to my family; first to my kids, Brandon and Alyssa, since it had the biggest impact on them, and next to my beloved wife, Connie, whose help, love, and support I could not have gone without.

I’d also like to extend my thanks to series originator and publisher Laurent Martrés for trusting me with this project.

I also want to give a special shout-out of thanks to a select number of friends and fellow photographers who contributed images to the book. For those who purchase the books, you’ll see their names and websites listed right near the front of the book, a place of due accord and thanks for their kind assistance.

You can order copies of the book through Amazon or B&N via the links above, or purchase (or special order) the book through your local brick & mortar bookstore.

I’ll also be selling a select, limited number of autographed copies through my web site. You can use my secure order form; simply fill out the bottom of the form. In the text area, just write (with as much detail as needed) how many copies of the book you’d like, and any special autograph requests. For example: “I’d like to order two copies of your Photographing California book. Sign one “To Uncle Henry” and send directly to him at (address). Sign the other one to “Florence”, which you can send directly to me.”

The cost for an autographed copy is $29.80 + ($3.75 US Mail) or ($7.95 Priority Mail) per book. CA Residents add 8.25% ($2.46) sales tax per copy. I’ll send an order confirmation via email just to make sure everything is correct before your credit card is charged.

– Again, my thanks to everyone who helped (or put up with me) during the extensive process of photographing, writing, editing, and completing this very intensive project. I hope this book brings many camera-toting people lots of good information and inspiration as they travel this incredibly diverse part of our great state of Northern California. (Oh wait… we’re not our own state… yet.) At least as I say in the book, Northern California is as much a State of Mind as it is a State of Place.

PS: If you purchase a copy of the book elsewhere, I’m always happy to autograph it; simply send it to me with a postage paid- self-addressed return shipping label. Contact me directly for more info.
