There's nothing quite as other-worldly for a nature photographer than mist or fog rising into the clouds out of a forest following a fresh rainstorm. Yosemite National Park, especially Yosemite Valley, but also other areas of the park put on ethereal atmospheric airs as moisture laden storms slam into the west slope of the Sierra Nevada, where the rising elevation of the mountains cause the cool water-soaked clouds to form and condense into rain, coating everything with a fresh shower of water. As the storms move through, mist, clouds and fog form to rise out of the forest like a dancing breath of mother nature.
