I read this news story about a professional model now suing the client that hired her for a TV jewelry commercial. Apparently, a model release was signed. Now she’s unhappy because she feels duped into having done something more sexual than what she was comfortable doing. As I read the AP story I could almost believe that the director might have used some misleading direction to achieve some more subtle pose than what the model was expecting to do. But then, in checking out the video of the TV Commercial, yeah, well, wow, she’s some actress. Yet seeing that, there is no way on planet earth that anyone could ever convince me that they were tricked into doing something like that, or that she, as a professional model, was somehow unaware of what she was doing. From what I saw, she looks like a pro. A professional model / actress who signed a release, and now regrets what she did.

This is why we have model releases in the first place.
