The North American Nature Photographers Association, (NANPA) is holding their annual conference for 2008 in San Destin, Florida from Feb. 27 – March 2nd.
This year, instead of being a regular attendee at the conference, I will be co-leading the Pro’s Meeting. The Pro’s Meeting is a 90-minute breakout session where we will be discussing many industry aspects relevant to established professional photographers. Also, we will be trying to collectively work on how NANPA can better serve it’s professional members.
Furthermore, I will also be one of the Portfolio Reviewers at the 2008 conference. Reviewers are made up of professional photographers, magazine editors, and agency editors who will give honest feedback on your student, amateur, or professional portfolio. If you are working on developing an editorial story, reviewers will make suggestions on how to improve that portfolio prior to submitting to magazines. I am currently signed up for nine review slots, of which I think four have already been filled. So if you are up for a dose of brutal truth…
I hope some of you will consider joining me in Florida. If you are going, please be sure to let me know. I’ll be delighted to meet as many people as I can, especially if you’re a regular reader of my weblog. 🙂
That’s great that you got involved w/ the NANPA this year Gary. You got pretty worked up over the Palm Springs conference. 🙂
