Tuolumne Meadows Mountain Sunset

This sunset mountain reflection scenic was taken in Tuolumne Meadows, Yosemite National Park. In late spring and early summer after the spring snow melts, parts of Tuolumne Meadows is prone to seasonal flooding when water fills up parts of the grassy meadows. This scene looks towards the mountains to the east of the meadows at sunset, when the last light of the setting sun causes the mountain peaks to be lit with a wonderful pinkish red light called alpenglow. The view here shows the crest of the high Sierra Nevada, including Mount Dana, Mount Gibbs, and the Mammoth Crest.
