Storm clouds at sunrise around El Capitan, Yosemite Valley

Storm clouds wrap around the sheer granite cliffs of El Capitan in Yosemite Valley on a winter morning just at sunrise. During the overnight hours, a cold storm rolled across Yosemite National Park the mountains of the Sierra Nevada. As I drove into Yosemite Valley during the hours before sunrise, thick clouds had settled against the cool granite cliffs. A tiny bit of morning sunlight was able to pierce a small hole in the overcast skies, and rays of golden sunrise light illuminated the ethereal clouds that seemed to cradle and shroud El Capitan. This was one of my favorite early images taken from the famous Tunnel View scenic vista lookout at the west end of Yosemite Valley.
