Cathedral Peak reflected in Upper Cathedral Lake

One of the most popular places in the high country of Yosemite National Park for people looking to do a nice hike or short backpacking trip into the mountains, the Cathedral Lakes lie just below the scenic Cathedral Peak in an area only a few miles from Tuolumne Meadows. Lower Cathedral Lake is often quite crowded with campers, since it is usually a place the beginning backpackers and families can reach easily. Upper Cathedral Lake is just a mile further up the trail, and offers a wonderful scenic vista looking up at this beautiful granite mountain which is the namesake peak for Yosemite National Park's Cathedral Range of mountains that are located in the heart of the Sierra Nevada.
