24 bottles of beer on the wall

Every so often I hear something that I’d like to pass on to you, my readers. Sometimes it’s a nice tidbit of useful information. Other times, (like this) are purely absurd comments – that usually relate to the value of photography as seen by those pursuing microstock sales. So wrote one photographer speaking of his monthly sales at a particular agency:

I’m earning between 12 and 24 bucks per month off a few hundred images. Took almost a year to get my first payout but hey, once the work is done (…) that’s an extra case of Corona every month.

Um, yeah; I can see that. He’s granted unlimited commercial use rights to 25 or more new “clients”, at an exchange rate of a full and unlimited commercial use license for the price of one beer, excluding the lime. That’s so depressing, I’d probably opt for getting drunk too. The only problem, I’d have to wait a whole week to earn enough to even get a good beer buzz worthy of a sunday BBQ.

My suggestion; this guy should raise his value level for the sale of the unlimited commercial use rights to … I dunno … how about a nice glass of Cabernet Sauvignon?
