Last year, fellow photographer Jim Goldstein started a weblog projects about sharing your top photos of the year, so here are mine in an almost random order for 2009. (Given that I didn’t photograph for over half the year – I’ll take what I got.)

I hope you like them. I’m kinda fond of a few of them, given that I barely got to take any pictures in 2009. I guess I’ll have to try & make up for that in 2010. (Fingers crossed – knock on wood – saying prayers -waving incense – tossing salt & avoiding cliffs.)
They look great! I like the Owens River pano especially. Good job.
Great stuff Gary. Funny to see the Owens River pano because I shot the same exact spot as a pano last year but never processed it.
Lots of beautiful light here, Gary! 🙂
#5 Most definitely. No, wait. #15, that’s the one! On second thought, the Death Valley salt pan. For sure and for certain. Darn, but I love the wood on the barn! Oh, for pete’s sake just consider them all faves!! Decisions, decisions! Too early in the morning for such weighty matters . . .
(You forgot to mention avoiding the whole ladder, black-cat and broken mirror, tossing pennies in the well thing).
Gary: I really love your shots. #6 Sunlight on bush in sand dunes near Stovepipe is a big favourite. Great light. And I love dines + I was there! Wonderful work.
Great selection! I briefly visited a lot of those places this past fall and absolutely loved it! Definitely want to get back to the Eastern Sierras and your photos of them are doing nothing but inspiring me to get back there with more time than I previously had.
Hey Gary,
Happy New Year, 2010 is here, can’t believe time has went by so fast!
Fantastic series, so nice it’s hard to pick a favorite but I’m really connecting the sweeping Dante’s view and the Basin Mtn shot. Thanks for sharing!
Steve
I’ll go for #6. Sunlight on bush in sand dunes near Stovepipe Wells. Just a brilliant use of light and form! And congrats on the Nature’s best win too.
Patrick
Great stuff Gary, I love them all!
Happy New Year Gary,
I can’t pick a favorite, they are all great.
Excellent set, Gary. You don’t need to photograph a lot if you photograph well. 😉 So many of them appeal, but “Spirits in the Air” really resonated with me the first time I saw it. And it still does. I love clouds… they can provide such dynamic elements for landscape work.
Nice shots Gary! These top in terms of you favs or top sellers?
John E.
Wonderful collection Gary.
Some favorites for me;
#8. Fall snow storm at sunrise over the Eastern Sierra
#4. Evening light over the Grand Canyon at Yavapai Point
#17. Rainbow over old wooden barn in morning light
