First is an announcement for those living and working in the Southern California region, and following that is a strong suggestion for everyone who dabbles in stock photography

The West Coast Chapter of the ASPP (American Society of Picture Professionals) is hosting an event in Culver City called, Copyrights & Copywrongs in Image Licensing“, with Attorney Nancy E. Wolff, counsel for PACA (The Picture Archive Council of America) next Saturday, April 4th, starting at 9:00am.

Included in the discussion and presentation will be:

* The Digital Millennium Copyright Act
* Fair use
* What copyright protects and for how long
* What is an infringement
* How the Copyright Act can be used to remove infringing works from the Internet
* When you need additional permissions and why
