Lembert Dome at Tuolumne Meadows, Yosemite

This image shows Lembert Dome which sits at the east end of Tuolumne Meadows on a beautiful, clear blue sky summer day as it sits above the Tuolumne River. Lembert Dome is one of the popular places along the Tioga Pass Road and Tuolumne Meadows area where people learn to rock climb on the classic Sierra Nevada granite. It has a relatively gentle inclined slope, and can be a fairly crowded place in summer due to it's easy to access location. There is also a trail to the summit of Lembert Dome that hikers can take to get a wonderful view out over Tuolumne Meadows. Although Lembert Dome itself isn't very tall, the trail to the top can be surprisingly strenuous even though it's a fairly short trail, due to a few steep sections and the final climb up a fairly steep granite slope near the top.
