Morning Light over the Tuolumne River
Photo: Clouds at sunrise reflected in the Tuolumne River, Tuolumne Meadows, Yosemite National Park, California
The waters of the Tuolumne River flows from its headwaters in the high mountain peaks along the crest of the Sierra Nevada, then runs west through Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite National Park. As the first light of dawn rose in the east, far beyond the crest of the Sierra Nevada mountains, a few small clouds began to appear in the high in the twilight of the morning sky. As the sun began to rise higher, but still well below the eastern horizon, the light on the clouds and the reflection in the water of the Tuolumne River began to a rich golden color against the dark blue sky.
