I feel like I’m ready for lift off. My recovery has progressed to the point where I feel like I can start thinking of being a photographer again. It’s been almost a week since I last used my wrist brace, and I can now hold a plate of food in my left hand without needing immediate help from the right hand to support the plate. This means that very soon, like within a week I’ll have enough strength to hold my camera and twist in a lens without worrying I’ll drop $7,000.00 on the ground.
And speaking of Lift-off, yesterday I watched courtesy of the Discovery Channel, the launch of the Space Shuttle on it’s final mission to repair the Hubble Space Telescope.
And speaking of Space, I was also reviewing and editing the text of a recent interview I’d given. When asked about which photographers I admire, I made sure to include Roger Ressmeyer. If you’re not familiar with his work, he did lots of great space, science, and celebrity photos. In the mid-1990’s he sold his entire photographic collection outright to Bill Gates’ Corbis Corporation. He now runs an agency called Science Faction. If you want to see more excellent photography, spend a few moments cruising the photographer portfolios.
I’ve added Roger to my growing List of Photographers.
Glad your recovery is going well!
