Photos and pictures of Seattle scenes; More images from the back of the virtual closet.
In my last post, I shared some images from a family spring break vacation featuring photos of the Oregon coast. These images are from the same trip, but from our first day which we spent in Seattle. Again, these pictures have never been processed or shared before – until now.
During our limited time in this beautiful city, we explored a couple of the local travel icons, specifically the Seattle Space Needle and Pikes Place Market. Additionally, we spent some time soaking in some of the visual treats at the Seattle Art Museum. One image that really caught my attention after-the-fact was the photo below of the Grecco-Roman statue. Seeing it set against the hazy backdrop of a modern, bustling city, I couldn’t help but wonder what the citizens who had gazed upon this statue back in antiquity would think if they were suddenly time-transported to this moment in time, standing there – wondering what this alien world just beyond the curtain must be.
As we wandered outside from Pikes Place Market, we could feel the city breathing a sigh and soaking up the sun rays of the first warm, clear day of the season. Shirts came off, music played, lunches were enjoyed, and an occasional frisbee was thrown; People were literally basking in the sunshine. It was fun to see the communal joy of a city celebrating the simple joy of nice weather.
Finally, I should also mention that one of the only other photos from this trip I previously shared was a 360-degree panorama photo taken from the top of the Seattle Space Neeedle.
So on with the photos… I hope you enjoy them and I’d love to know if you have a favorite image or two. 🙂
