Recently, fellow photographer Jim Goldstein posted his 10 Best images for 2008. To top it off, he created a great Blog Project called “Your 10 Best Images of 2008” where he has invited others to do the same. I thought it was a great idea, so here are my top 10 images from last year, and not surprisingly, most were taken for my latest book project.
San Destin Resort, Florida
Wildflowers in Spring, Los Padres National Forest
Wave washing ashore at Carmel River State Beach
Rhododendron & fog in Redwood Forest
Fog and Forest at Sunrise, Redwood National Park
Sunset at Trinidad State Beach
(Owl on top of) Cape Mendocino Lighthouse
Boardwalk through the Elfin Forest, Morro Bay
Road at sunrise in the Santa Ynez Valley
Bird sits atop Agave plant, Ojai Valley Inn & Spa
In retrospect, I’d have to say I’m pretty happy, and most of these will be featured in my updated portfolio(s). Thanks for looking, and here’s wishing us all a great and prosperous New Year.
P.S. Thanks for the motivation behind posting these and for the Blog Project, Jim. I know I’m a bit late to the Project, but if others are reading and have the chance to get involved, I know I’ll look forward to seeing what everyone else posts.
These are great Gary. I look forward to seeing all the photos in your book when it’s released. Thanks for taking part in the best of 2008 blog project. As always your work is inspiring.
Great shots Gary. Darn. I need to get moving on picking my own images.
Great stuff Gary!
I have always loved the photo of the chair in Florida, I still think it is my favorite of yours for the year.

Wow, very nice Gary. Hard to pick a favorite among these – each one shows a wonderful sense of balance. The Carmel river beach and Redwood fog would be my favorites – but someone would have to twist my arm to make me pick.
Great images, you’ve got a wonderful eye. I each image is powerful and different. It’s got me wondering what my top 10 images would be for 2008.
Keep up the good work
