Busy week on the Copyright Infringement Lawsuit Filing front. Viacom, the media mega-giant that owns MTV & VH1 is suing YouTube for unlawful distribution of their copyrighted material. A year ago, this would probably not have happened as YouTube was just another Internet site on the rise. But now, the supreme Internet Diety, Google, owns YouTube, and Viacom sees deep pockets. How Deep? Google purchased YouTube for 1.6 Billion dollars. Viacom is now suing Google (YouTube’s parent company) for 1 Billion dollars.

And in the grand scheme of Kharma working its threads of delicate irony throughout the universe, Viacom, and the creator of the kids cartoon, Spongebob Squarepants, is now being sued by a guy who says he invented the character, “Bob Spongee” back in 1991. The damages being sought for this infringement? 1.6 Billion Dollars.
