Picture: Sunset light on Angora Peaks above Fallen Leaf Lake, South Lake Tahoe Basin, California
This was the scene last weekend, a short walk from our family campsite at Fallen Leaf Lake. I hadn’t been to this campground in many years. The first time was spent camping with friends after my high school graduation; my present to myself. The next year, I camped here for the first time with a young girl, who years later would become my wife. While sitting at a campfire, thinking back, it was now almost 24 years since our first special trip this spot. Geez, time flies when your having fun, or have kids, or worse yet, have both.
Come to think of it, I guess there was a reason I posted my last Lake Tahoe photo.
You can see more of my Lake Tahoe Area Photos from previous years in my online web gallery.
Congrats on the anniversary. Tahoe seems like a great place for a romantic getaway at least from the pictures I’ve seen. Reminds me of a story my parents told me about this lake on the central coast. On one of their first dates back in 1978, my dad almost lit the area on fire from a bbq picnic gone bad…
