I’m willing to bet that Ms. Barbara Powell lives in … (Drum roll, please) …. Nigeria. For several years, a common scam has targeted photographers for either print sales, or for photographing weddings. Long story short, and email arrives saying, “I want to by 20 prints”, or, “I want you to photograph my wedding” (1,000 miles from where you live) with all expenses paid. The rub, you get a check for way over the amount, credited to your bank. Then they say, “Oops, we overpaid. Kindly send us a refund to my uncle, Sir Kwasi Scammamto, chief financial officer of the Usukka’ Bank.”
