This image seems like it should be a throwback to how Yosemite National Park would have looked before it ever became a National Park. Here, a group of Native American Teepees show a camp in a meadow below Sentinel Rock in the middle of Yosemite Valley. Once home to the Awhaneechee and Miwok Native American Indian tribes, Yosemite Valley seems like it would have been a picture perfect paradise. And so it did look, and some may recognize this, as these teepees were part of a film set constructed for the filming the Jodie Foster - Mel Gibson movie, Maverick. Yes, folks, it's Hollywood, but it still as an authentic air beneath the majestic natural cliffs of Yosemite Valley.
