Look, Look, Up in the sky!

Last night I was escaping the lull in the current heat wave by enjoying the night air (81 degrees F) lounging in my patio recliner. As I looked up, I saw a bright light moving through the sky. Normally, I’d just chalk it up to being another one of those body-snatching UFO’s… er… I mean, satellite. But this one was a bit brighter than usual. However, I also know that the Sapce Shuttle is now in orbit with the ISS (International Space Station). That reminded me of a cool site I have bookmarked that allows for live unmanned satellite tracking, and a sister site that allows for the tracking of manned spacecraft. Below is a quick screen grab of the SST (Shuttle) tracking.

See what satellites are zipping overhead.

See where the Shuttle and Space Station are right now.

See when one of these objects will be in your visual range.

This last link will require a quick and painless registration, after which you will need set your global location (lat. & long. or US Zip Code). Once that is done, simply look for the sections on Satellites, and click on ISS if you want to see the Space Station.

I’ll be including these links on a permanent basis on my COSMOS page.
