Picture: Alpenglow at sunset lights up the summit of Mount Shasta Volcano, part of the southern Casacade Range, Siskiyou County, California

This was taken on my recent trip to Wyoming. Two of my lifelong best-friends now live in Mount Shasta city, only minutes from this vista. So when spending an evening visiting with them before turning towards the northeast, I couldn’t help but soak in a nice sunset at the base of this beautiful mountain. The Mount Shasta photos on my website represent one of the very first original galleries. I’m too embarrassed to show how version 1.0 of my website looked, but if you know how to use the wayback machine….

Great shot Gary. Mount Shasta has been on my re-shoot list for quite a while now. I had heat exhaustion last time I went camping up there in August. I drank an entire case full of bottled water in a day or so but never had to relieve any of it! My skin was as white as paper too.

And yeah I saw your website on the wayback. The old site was cute. 🙂 On the plus side you had a head start over most other photographers.
