I hope you’ll enjoy this year-end collection featuring some of my favorite photographs made during 2021.
“I’m not sure you’d call it back on the horse again, but at least I’m back on the quarter-pony in front of the supermarket.” 🙂
While I certainly didn’t get to shoot as much as I’d like, still primarily due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, it was certainly a better year photographically speaking than 2020. During the previous year, I did practically zero travel, even going so far as to take a step back from my photography altogether during the height of the pandemic. This year, I finally got to do at least a little bit of travel during the spring and fall. In October, my wife and I finally decided to jump on a plane and head to New England for the fall colors. It was a far cry from the four-week, 30th anniversary trip to Italy we had planned prior to the pandemic, but it proved to be a wonderful getaway, and a much-needed chance to again stretch my photographic legs.
So without much further delay, here are a few of my selected images from 2021. As with previous years, I’d be delighted to know which one(s) you like if you’d care to leave a comment in the comment section below.
If you enjoy my work, one of the greatest compliments you can give is sharing this post with your friends and family using those fun little Social Media share buttons located at the bottom of this post.

A eclectic mix of great photographs Gary! My favorite is probably the first image – I always love fall foliage and that has some nice reflections as well. #2 and #13 are also ones that stand out for me immediately I hope we can all safely get in a bit more travel and photography in 2022!
Looks like you went to New England at a great time, Gary. You made the most of your time. Hoping for a safe and productive 2022!
A beautiful and varied series Gary. I’m glad to see that you’re getting out there more. Happy anniversary. 🙂
Great images Gary. I especially enjoyed Yosemite with stars.
Great selection again Gary. I was a bit surprised to see the East Coast photos, looks like you had a fun trip there. My favorite is #9 Crowds in Times Square. I also like #2 Foster Covered Bridge in Vermont. It brought back wonderful memories of one of the best trips my wife Coleen and I ever made together. Best wishes to you and your family in 2022, keep up the good work!
Happy new Year, Gary. You have some great images here. As for a fav, I’d have to say #7 – Half Dome. Anything Yosemite will rank high with me, so #4 is up there too. I also like #9 -Times Square. There all great, so I’ll stop listing now and just sit back and enjoy my bourbon.
Beautiful variety around the U. S. Gary. Thanks for the update & sharing your work. I haven’t seen you on Facebook but I will check into that!
Have a Wonderful 2022.

Love your work, love you! More to come for 2022!
Beautiful shots, Gary. Wish I had known you were going to be in my neck of the woods!
#1 is a stunner, Gary – it brought me in and I readjusted my computer screen so I could see it all at once. Really lovely. Numbers 2, 4, 6, 7, 9 were also very appealing to my tastes. So glad to see that you’re out again and catching great scenes in great light.
Great images Gary. My favourite is the Yosemite under the stars.
A wonderful composite of diversity and skillfully applied. Great Job Gary…..very well done. A lot of time and travel went into this
and I also appreciated the touch of B&W applied and delivering some faithfull remembrance of the spirit of Ansel Adams.
Gary,
I like all the images you shared in varying degrees, but my clear favorite is the Times Square evening shot–great color, feeling of movement, good overall composition, verging on abstraction but still understandable. Thanks for sharing your work.
Happy 2022.
Bill Helsel
Gary,
As always your pictures are beautiful. I love the photos from the New England area in the fall, as many photos of Yosemite you’ve shown you always seem to come up with new ones that look great. Keep up the great work.

Great work this year!
Hi Gary,
Looks like you spent some time in my neck of the woods (literally). Boothbay is a beautiful spot as is the White Mountains of New Hampshire. If you ever return please drop me a line and maybe by then I’ll have some secret locations that IGers haven’t found yet. A beautiful set of images for ’21.
Lovely. How could I possibly choose.!!

Great seeing your stroll through 2021, Gary. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful work and for all the inspiration you provide each and every year. Merry today and happy everything!
Looks like a wonderful year of exploring Gary despite all the world that throws at us to attempt to thwart that.
Great images! I would love you to the roundup of photographers’ top images of 2021 over at photographyandtravel.com (like what Jim Goldstein used to do up until a couple years ago). Here is a link to the submission form if you are willing. Thanks.
