Picture: Recreational boat grounded while at anchor due to low tide in Morro Bay, California
I spent the last week in Morro Bay, camping with the wife and my kids at Morro Bay State Park. We actually got home a few days ago, but I’ve spent the last few days feeling like the boat in this picture. There’s nothing worse than coming home from vacation, except coming home from vacation sick.
For those that don’t know, Morro Bay is a tidal estuary, but very shallow in most areas. I actually watched this boat anchor earlier in the day, and thought to myself, “Gee, it’s pretty shallow over there…”. I was amused when driving back from town later in the afternoon, I crested a hill and saw this boat sitting in the mud.

Morro Bay is so awesome. My cousin and I got our kayaks stuck in the mud in the middle of the estuary once. It was fun! 🙂
